Mt Kanchenjunga - five summits adorn this monarch. The name is derived from the Tibetan words, 'Kanchen' and 'Dzonga' meaning 'Five Treasuries of the Great Snow'. While the highest summit is 28,156 feet, the second highest peak is 27,820 feet, thus falling short of the former by 336 feet only. Four colossal ridges of inconceivable dimensions of rocks, ice, and snow abut upon this massif.

In the Shadow of Kanchenjunga

This trek will lead us through picturesque terraced fields, fragrant tea gardens, fruit orchards, forests of rhododendrons, magnolias and great monasteries. All of this is set against the backdrop of the third highest mountain in the world - Kanchenjunga - which dominates the skyline.

This is one of our most scenic treks taking in spectacular views of the Himalayas, including Makalu, Everest and Lhotse.

Multi Event Challenge and India Community Projects

Indulge your spirits on this fascinating multi adventure trip combining rafting on the Ganges and a bike and hike to Corbett National park for fine game viewing on elephant back and open 4WD Jeeps. We will also have time to explore the Yoga capital and delve into the culture and people of the western Himalaya. We will finish our journey with a visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal.

Community Projects- we have a wide range of projects that can be tailored to meet you exact needs. Please contact us for further information.

"The Ganga, especially, is the river of India, beloved of her people, round which are intertwined her memories, her hopes and fears, her songs of triumph, her victories and her defeats. She has been a symbol of India's age-long culture and civilization, ever changing, ever flowing, and yet ever the same Ganga." - Jawaharlal Nehru, First Prime Minister of India, born in Allahabad on the Ganges.

In the far-flung northern reaches of India, Ladakh is one of the most remote and sparsely populated regions on earth. Bordered by Tibet, it is often described as the “roof of the world” and has an almost moon like terrain, girdled by some of the greatest mountain ranges of the world.

Ladakh Trek

This is a stunning trek through the magical Buddhist kingdom of Ladakh, passing charming villages and monasteries, and offering magnificent views of the Himalayas including the highest peak Stok Kangri at 6100m, Karakoram and the rugged Zanskar range.

Our trek passes through the Hemis National Park and we may even see Bharal (blue sheep), Snow Leopard and Golden Eagles circling above.

The capital Leh was developed as a trading post and market, attracting a wide variety of merchants from Yarkend, Kashgar, Kashmir, Tibet and Norh India. Tea, salt, household articles, wool, and semi precious stones were all traded in the market. The 16th Century Leh Palace looms above the city and is often compared as Lhasa’s Potala Palace.

Shivling Extreme Climb

Lead by Simon Yates of 'Touching the Void' fame.   The stunning peak of Shivling (6,543m) lies at the heart of the Gangotri region of Uttar Pradesh in India. Widely acclaimed by mountaineers as the world's most beautiful mountain, it is also coveted by Hindus as the home of Shiva - one of their most important gods. The source of the Ganges is just a few miles from the base of the peak at the snout of the Gangotri Glacier. The surrounding peaks - the Bhagirathis, Kedarnath Dome, Thalay Sagar and Meru, to name just a few, are equally impressive. A finer collection of mountains cannot be found anywhere.

Shivling offers a fantastic objective for our expedition, being readily accessible and having a wonderful base camp (Tapovan) right at the foot of the peak. The route we climb is the West Ridge. This offers continually interesting climbing on snow and mixed terrain with short technical sections that will be fixed with rope. At the top of the ridge a band of ice cliffs are skirted to give access to the summit snow slopes. A marvellous opportunity to climb this beautiful mountain.

It is a fact that the benefits of your charity project or challenge are far more widely reaching than you can ever imagine.

"You will be very glad you did it and your life will be richer for having done it. In one word - unforgettable!" Sorcha O'Horain

Land of the King's Bike Ride

An exhilarating 4 days' cycling starts from Bhandavgarh Tiger Reserve, traversing the highlands of central Indian range.

Crossing some of India’s most beautiful and least spoilt valleys, we will ride through rolling hills and the homelands of nomadic and tribal people, through river courses across fertile plains dotted with small villages and hand cultivated fields, before entering a thick Sal and Bamboo forest of Khanna National Park, which offers stunning game viewing by jeep and elephant.

The combination of historical sites, valleys, wildlife, visits to tribal villages and fantastic campsites make this an unforgettable journey.
